CONVENOR’S MESSAGE

Tillsonburg Minor Hockey extends a warm welcome to all participants, coaching staff and supporters to our 2008 - 2009 Tournaments. We salute the efforts and dedication of the Tournament Committee and the many other volunteers and sponsors that make our tournaments such a success each year. We wish the best of luck to all participants with the hope that the enjoyment of competition and the understanding of the spirit of the Game which encourages “KIDS HELPING KIDS” will be fondly remembered for years to come.

There will be NO gate at any of the Tournaments. Each team will receive refreshments after their first game. There will be awards for ALL participants.

Please complete the application forms along with your cheque made payable to Tillsonburg Minor Hockey Inc. and forward to the appropriate Tournament Convenor. Applications sent to the wrong Convenor may result in a delay of acceptance and possible entry. Tillsonburg Minor Hockey will not be responsible for misdirected Application & Entry forms.

TOURNAMENT RULES

There are two divisions with three teams per division (unless numbers dictate otherwise), with all teams advancing to an ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ Championship. Each team is guaranteed 3 games.

1. All O.M.H.A. rules and regulations shall apply

2. All games will be 10-10-10 stop time periods.

3. In the case of a tie, there will be sudden victory overtime until there is a winner.
• First there will be a 5-min. period with 3 skaters on 3 with a goalie.
• If still tied there will be 5-min. periods with 1 skater on 1 with a goalie until there is a winner.
• The goalie must remain on the ice at all times during the overtime periods.
• All overtime periods are stop time and player changes must be made on the fly -NO CHANGES DURING STOPPAGE OF PLAY.
• Minor penalties called in overtime will result in a penalty shot(s) Coincidental minors shall be served in the usual manner. For the purpose of this rule any major or match penalty called will be served in the usual manner, plus a penalty shot (s) will also be awarded.

4. Individual or team suspensions shall be enforced as per the O.M.H.A. Manual of Operations.

5. ZERO TOLERANCE RULE: Abusive behaviour On or Off the Ice (physical, verbal etc.) conducted by any player , team official , on ice official , game official , or fan will not be tolerated. Such actions will result in the guilty party or parties being expelled from the Tournament.

6. If there are conflicting sweater colours the Home team will be expected to wear sweaters of contrasting colour. Please bring 2 sets of sweaters if possible.

7. All teams MUST have a CERTIFIED Coach and Trainer on the bench for all games.

8. All players and team officials MUST be at the arena one hour prior to their first scheduled game to sign in as per O.M.H.A. rules. Teams must be ready to start all games 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled start time.

9. By accepting entry to the Tournament , the Coach / Manager on behalf of the team releases the Sponsors of the Tournament , its officials, and all connected with the tournament from liability by any player or team official participating in the Tournament.

10. Don’t forget your APPROVED Players and Team Officials Base Cards/Roster.
