OMHA Rep team selections must be completed prior to the first AE tryout and
the AE team selections must be completed prior to the first House League evaluation
skate.

later than September 30th.
No player may be carded for more than one team.
PLAYER
EVALUATIONS: REP AND AE TRYOUT AND SELECTION PROCEDURES
There shall be a player tryout fee payable at each tryout.
Coaches will not make cuts prior to the third (3rd) scheduled try-out.
Each Rep team will be given five (5) tryout sessions.
A player must first be released from the Rep team to become eligible for an
AE team, by either attending the pre-tryout skate or the Rep tryouts.
A coach, during the team selection process, must have a minimum of two (2)
independent non-parent evaluators, assigned by the TMHI Executive, to assist
with on ice evaluations.
Coaches must give all players an opportunity for an explanation and interview,
as to why they have been released.
If a player makes the Rep team and then decides not to play, he will be released
only to House League. He will not be allowed to be an AP for the AE team.
The TMHI Executive reserves the right to deal with any exceptions that may
arise.
The TMHI Executive is responsible for providing guidelines to the Head Coaches
for the rating and selection of players according to pre-determined criteria
and using a fair, equitable and unbiased process.
The Head Coach shall select the players and then select the assistant coaching
staff from among the players’ parents and other interested and qualified
people.
HOUSE LEAGUE
SELECTION PROCEDURES
TMHI will rate the players during two evaluation skates.
Teams will be picked by the Convenor at the start of each season. New players,
unrated, will be drafted to the best of the Convenor’s knowledge of
that individual. If further balancing of teams appears necessary, players
will be moved at the direction of the House League Convenor. Once teams are
selected, and only after teams are selected, coaches will be assigned to each
team. MINOR adjustments can be made at this time to allow coaches to coach
their own child. After the first round of play and possibly at other times
throughout the season, the H/L Convenor will meet with the coaches to determine
if further team adjustments are required. Coaches, players and parents should
keep in mind that the purpose of team adjustments is to maintain balanced
teams. This ensures a healthy level of enjoyment and skills development for
all players. Players may not be moved into/from the Rep or House League Divisions
after selection is complete without written authorization from the TMHI Executive.
Only in extreme cases will the TMHI Executive consider any such requests.
